by James
(South Africa)

The film is about migrant workers in and around South Africa. But more importantly about a single Malawian man's journey to push on forward in the midst of hardship, in his attempt to give his family and children a better life than he had, all the while he can only see them for 3 months periods at a time while he leaves to work 2 years away from home. The documentary aims to inform, challenge and bring about active change in how migrant workers in South Africa are being mistreated and how their stories ought to be understood considering our past oppressive segregated past. The film throughout explores the lives and work of other migrants in South Africa and express their anxieties and problems experienced , while they work away from home. The documentary takes on a archival approach to express ethical, moral and philosophical concepts pretaining to the narrative of the documentary.
