A-level course fees

by Dora Peterfay
(Baja, Hungary)

I'm a nineteen-year-old blind student from Hungary hoping to start my A-levels at Truro College this coming September. I'm blind, and have been since birth. I come from a single-parent family with very little income. As a full time student I won't be entitled to any benefits when I arrive in England. I have been trying to apply for grants, but all I can ever find is funding for university courses. My biggest issue is that I already have a level 3 qualification, which makes me ineligible for funding from my college. Besides, as an EU student, they expect me to pay prior to the start of the term, so I need the money asap. You must be wondering why I want to study A-levels when I already have an equivalent qualification. I wish to study English at degree level, so A-levels are necessary.
